What is Vitamin Kommandó?
Vitamin Kommandó is the very first and most defining project of the Budapest Bike Maffia, operating for over 14 years. Its goal is to provide direct assistance to homeless people living on the streets, for whom survival is a daily challenge. Twice a week, volunteers hop on their bikes to deliver fresh sandwiches, hot drinks, fruit, vitamins, hygiene products, warm clothing, and blankets to those in need.
But this initiative is not just about food distribution. The volunteers also engage in conversations with those they help, listening to their stories. A kind word, a little attention is sometimes just as valuable as the food itself. These encounters provide not only physical but also emotional support, helping those living on the streets not to lose hope.
The work of Vitamin Kommandó involves preparing and distributing over 20,000 sandwiches each year, all made possible with the help of volunteers and donors.

How can you get involved?
In April, for every bicycle purchased at our shop, we will donate 1% of the purchase price to support Vitamin Kommandó. This way, you not only get a new bike for the spring season but also help these volunteers continue their valuable work.
