A precise, professional gauge for quickly checking bicycle chain wear (elongation). The correct position of the gauge is fixed by pressing the chain roller against the chain pin – the same way the chain is stressed when pulled by the chainring/cog teeth.
The inspection contact indicates 4 levels of wear:

• 0% (OK)
• 0.5% (limit recommended by many manufacturers for 11–13 speed chains, including SRAM® T-Type, SRAM® Flattop™, and Shimano® XTR®)
• 0.75% (limit for 5–10 speed chains)
• 1% (limit for single-speed chains)
