The new Scott Addict RC: Lighter, faster, more comfortable
Scott has introduced the latest Addict RC series, which is the brands lightest and most advanced road bike to date. The 2025 model line has made significant advancements in carbon technology, aerodynamics, and comfort, all without any compromises.

Technological Innovations

Scott engineers have completely reimagined the frame structure of the Addict RC, resulting in a 300-gram weight reduction compared to the previous generation, with the model reaching a total weight of just 5.9 kg. The new carbon molding technology has led to a fully hollow frame design without the use of dead-end tubes, providing an optimal balance of lightweight construction, rigidity, and strength. This process is notably unique in the cycling industry and can only be applied when the frame design is specifically tailored for this manufacturing method. The PP Mandrel technology ensures precise internal surfaces and tube shapes, further optimizing weight without sacrificing stiffness or strength. The exact internal form allows all excess resin to be removed during the molding process, leaving only what is necessary for optimal rigidity and durability. Some areas of the frame feature a material thickness as thin as 0.6 mm, achieving the desired strength and stiffness through precise resin application and pressure distribution.

Geometry, Comfort, Aerodynamics

The geometry of the new Addict RC has been comprehensively redesigned to fully align with the modern specifications of the bike, taking into account wider tires and improving handling consistency. The modern geometry is optimized for a 28 mm tire width as standard, with clearance extending up to 34 mm. This combination ensures agile handling while maintaining stability even at high speeds.

The introduction of the new Addict RC also paved the way for the development of an innovative new Syncros handlebar, the IC-R100-SL. The design’s main goal was to create an aerodynamic handlebar that seamlessly integrates with the brake levers. This streamlined design not only reduces drag and results in watt savings but also enhances the bike’s handling. Additionally, the Syncros team developed a new, innovative bike computer mount for the integrated cockpit. This ultra-light mount weighs just 12 grams, making it nearly 70% lighter than traditional CNC-machined models.

A well-designed frame set system performs optimally when paired with an appropriate seatpost. For the new Addict RC, two seatpost options are available to cater to different rider needs.

The new SP-R100-SL seatpost is 10% lighter than its predecessor. The updated seatpost clamping design, which is more fiber-friendly, allowed for optimization of the seatpost layup. This not only led to a reduction in weight but also improved flexibility and comfort. This development not only provides a lighter and more aerodynamic advantage but also enhances long-distance comfort, maintaining the necessary stiffness for both racing and everyday use.

The new SP-R101-CF seatpost, available starting with the Addict RC 10, offers a 30% increase in comfort compared to the SL version. The seatpost features a flexible cover at the rear, which hides a magnetic mounting system designed for easy swapping with the new Syncros rear light. This practical and innovative solution not only enhances the comfort of the rider but also improves visibility, boosting safety during rides.

Performance and User Experience

The Addict RC is designed to be both an exceptional climber and a race-ready machine suited for sprinting. The bike achieves a 12-watt increase in efficiency while being 36% more comfortable than its predecessor. This performance is further enhanced by the new Syncros Capital wheels, which feature an ideal aerodynamic profile and low weight. These wheels are complemented by market-leading DT Swiss hubs, known for their precision bearings and sophisticated internal mechanics, ensuring a smooth and efficient drive. The innovative design of the hubs minimizes energy loss, maximizing the transfer of power from the drivetrain to forward motion.

The new Scott Addict RC is not just a bicycle but an exemplary fusion of technology and innovation. By integrating aerodynamics, lightweight construction, functionality, and modern design, Scott's engineers have created a machine that delivers outstanding performance for both competitive cyclists and enthusiastic hobbyists. Advanced features such as revolutionary carbon molding techniques, optimized cockpit and seatpost solutions, and enhanced geometry all contribute to making the Addict RC an exceptional experience. This bicycle not only meets the current standards but sets a new benchmark for future bicycles.

Starting from the 2025 season, certain models of the new Addict RC will be available at our store. In the meantime, here is a teaser video from Scott showcasing this new racing machine:
